It may be time to change the oil you use at home. Scientists have conducted a series of experiments and what they found will shock you!
Sunflower oil and corn oil release harmful chemicals when they are heated up.
Leading scientists have conducted a series of experiments and they found that some vegetable oils, like sunflower oil and corn oil, release chemicals called aldehydes when they’re heated up. These chemicals are associated with a number of major health problems, like cancer, heart disease and dementia. Pregnancy complications, inflammation, high blood pressure and ulcers are also some of the health risks associated with aldehydes. A typical meal fried in these vegetable oils released 100 to 200 times the amount of aldehydes that the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared safe! The unhealthy omega 6 fatty acids do so much damage to your health, that the omega 3 content is of no use.
Coconut oil and butter have been found to release the least harmful chemicals when heated.
In contrast to vegetable oils, coconut oil and butter released the least aldehydes when heated up. The scientists recommend that you cook as much of your food in coconut oil as possible.
This graph shows us exactly how the various oils hold up when they’re heated.
